May, City's Inflation Is Better Than National Inflation

The inflation rate in Jakarta in May 2016 is reaching 0.19 percent. This number is lower than in May 2015 which reached 0.34 percent.

Inflation in Jakarta this time is better than national inflation, which is only 0.24 percent

Jakarta Distribution Statistic Section for Jakarta BPS, Dody Rudyanto disclosed the number is better than national number.

"Inflation in Jakarta this time is better than national inflation, which is only 0.24 percent," he stated, Wednesday (6/1).

Pressing Inflation Rate, Staple Foods Distribution Monitored

He explained inflation in May is due to the increase in five groups namely groceries (1.08 percent), food fast, cigarette and tobacco (0.20 percent) and housing, water, electrical, gas and fuel (0.04 percent).

For foreign tourist visit that passes three gates are Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport and Tanjung Priok Port experienced declining by 7.21 percent than local tourist visit in March 2016 that reached 208,788 visits.

"Declining is due to minimal event in Jakarta, thus it has an impact on tourist visit," he closed.
