Transportation Department of Bekasi City Government once again caught Jakarta Provincial Government’s dump truck that violated operational hour. Knowing that, Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama threatens to give strict sanction to Jakarta Cleanliness Department officers who violated the rules.

That (dump truck being grounded) is reasonable. We’ll tell them (cleanliness officers), that those who violate operational hour will not be used (employed) again

That (dump truck being grounded) is reasonable. We’ll tell them (cleanliness officers), that those who violate operational hour will not be used (employed) again,” stated Basuki at City Hall, Tuesday (4/29).

Basuki stressed that Jakarta Provincial Government will give sanction for operational hour violation. There are various sanctions that could be given. The heaviest is dismissal of related cleaning service officer if the person is city government’s employee.

Based on Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreed between Jakarta Provincial Government and Bekasi City Government, dump truck operational hour is from 9 PM to 4 AM. Beyond that, dump truck that violates the rule will be sent home or grounded. In addition, dump trucks must also cross Cibubur to reach Bantargebang, Bekasi. At this time, 16 dump trucks are parked on Bekasi Sports Hall (GOR) field.

According to Basuki, Transportation Department of Bekasi City Government has applied sanction based on the implemented rules. Therefore, he supports Bekasi City Government’s step to give sanction if Jakarta Cleanliness Department’s dump trucks kept operating beyond operational hour.
