Next Few Days, Light to Heavy Rain to Hit Jakarta

"The public is urged to increase their awareness of the impact of this weather," said Isnawa Adji, Head of Jakarta BPBD, Tuesday (2/3).

Isnawa added that the potential for high intensity rain risks causing puddles and flooding in a number of vulnerable areas.

According to him, current atmospheric conditions support the occurrence of extreme weather so that preparedness from all parties is very necessary.

"BPBD continues to coordinate with BMKG and related agencies to monitor weather developments periodically," he added.

Jakarta BPBD Agency has urged residents to take early precautionary measures, such as ensuring that water channels in their surrounding areas are not clogged and preparing emergency supplies.

In addition, the public is advised to carry an umbrella or raincoat when doing activities outside the home and follow official information from the local government to avoid unwanted risks.

The agency also provides water level monitoring services and flood information through the official Jakarta Provincial Government channels to monitor the latest conditions.

"If the public encounters an emergency situation that requires immediate assistance, they should immediately contact the Jakarta Siaga emergency service via number 112," he appealed.
