Water Channel on Jalan Raya Pasar Kebayoran Lama Cleaned

As many as 15 PPSU personnel cleaned water channel on Jalan Raya Pasar Kebayoran, Grogol Selatan Urban Village, Kebayoran Lama District, South Jakarta.

Being intensified

Head of Kebayoran Lama District, Mustofa said the cleaning activities focused on dealing with the problem of puddles that often occur during heavy rain.

"This location was flooded, blocking road access, disrupting residents' mobility. Therefore, we are following up immediately," he said, Friday (2/6).

Channel Normalization on Jalan Sayuti Completed

Based on joint monitoring by his team, the water channel at the location was blocked by trash, both from vendors and other types of waste. The sediment depth was estimated to reach two meters, requiring intensive management.

"I ask that this activity be continuously intensified and not stopped before the water channels are completely clean," he added.

Meanwhile, Head of Grogol Selatan Urban Village, Ahmed Garibaldi stated the 15 PPSU personnel were deployed to clean up the channel along 200 meters. The target is to lift 80 to 100 sacks containing mud sediment and rubbish in a day.

He hopes that in the future, community service can be carried out on a larger scale, involving all relevant sectors, such as the Water Resources Sub-agency and other agencies. This effort is expected to address the frequent flooding on Jalan Raya Pasar Kebayoran Lama.

"We really hope for cooperation and a positive response from traders around this area so that they do not throw away their trading waste or food scraps into the water channels, especially when the market is busy in the afternoon and evening," he stated.
