The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) is shaking up traffic patterns along Jalan Puri Indah Raya, West Jakarta, to facilitate the construction of a new pedestrian bridge (JPO).
We urge the public to adjust their travel schedules
It will be implemented in stages, adjusting to the construction progress to ensure road users stay safe and sound while keeping traffic congestion at bay.
Dishub Head Syafrin Liputo highlighted that the project is a major step toward putting pedestrian safety front and center, fostering a more secure and comfortable environment for city dwellers.

"The rerouting has been meticulously planned to ensure we don't throw a wrench in the daily commute," he noted, Wednesday (2/11).
The construction project on Jalan Puri Indah Raya, West Jakarta, is moving into its next phases. To keep the project on track, the following schedule and traffic adjustments have been established:
1. Laying the Groundwork (Foundations)
• North Side (Parking Area): Construction is underway from February 9–16, 2026.
• South Side (Puri Mall): Work is slated for February 7–14, 2026.
• Median Strip: Foundation work is currently in full swing (February 4–18, 2026), occupying approximately 1 meter of the inner lane.
2. Raising the Pillars (Columns, Stairs, and Lifts)
• Work on the North and South (Puri Mall) sides will remain off-road, having no impact on traffic flow.
• Median Column Installation: Scheduled for March 1–3, 2026, during the night owl shifts (10 PM – 4 AM). During these hours, the South side will be closed, and traffic will be diverted to the North side, which will temporarily operate as a two-way street (contraflow) with barriers in place.
3. Raising the Bar (Girder Erection)
South Side Erection: Taking place March 4–6, 2026 (10 PM – 4 AM). Traffic will shift to the North side via contraflow.
North Side Erection: Following closely from March 7–9, 2026 (10 PM – 4 AM). Traffic will then be diverted to the South side using the contraflow system.
To keep traffic moving without a hitch, Dishub and related units are working hand in glove, placing traffic marshals and clear signs around the construction zone.
This bridge project is part of Jakarta’s broader mission to pave the way for safer and more inclusive pedestrian facilities. The government is calling on everyone to do their bit for a better Jakarta.
"We urge the public to adjust their travel schedules, stay alert to field instructions, and remember that being better safe than sorry is the priority while work is in progress," he remarked.
