Glodok Area Development Plan, Rano: We're Regulating, Not Prohibiting

"We will regulate, not prohibit." This was emphasized by the Deputy Jakarta Governor, Rano Karno, regarding the provincial government's plan to improve the Jalan Pancoran, Glodok, Taman Sari area, West Jakarta.

requires special handling

Rano explained the party does not prohibit traders from using pedestrian roads, but will make arrangements so that their activities do not disturb pedestrians and cause traffic jams in the surrounding area.

Glodok Area Planned to Be Integrated with Kota Tua Revitalization

Culturally, Rano added, the Glodok area has very specific characteristics. He also believes that the current lifestyle has been practiced for a long time.

"Due to the slightly different conditions, the arrangement of the Jalan Pancoran area, Glodok, requires special handling," Rano said, Wednesday (2/11).

Rano believes that the residents and communities on Jalan Pancoran, Glodok, are ready to work together to support the Jakarta Provincial Government's efforts to organize the area so that it is more orderly.

According to him, this is because the arrangement plan carried out by the Provincial Government aims to make the area tidier, thus attracting tourists to visit.

Rano continued, a large number of tourist visits will impact the economy of the traders operating there. Conversely, a chaotic area will discourage tourists.

"Its sales value or trade is also hampered. Essentially, I'm very confident the people of Jakarta will be ready to cooperate on this," he stated.
