Integrated Ramadan Patrols in Koja Maintain a Conducive Atmosphere

The ranks of Koja District, North Jakarta together with local army and police intensify Integrated Patrol during ramadan to maintain public order and security.

Head of Koja District, Toto Bondan said the Integrated Patrol is a preventative measure to anticipate potential street brawls and pre-dawn meal gatherings. The activity is carried out from night to early morning, targeting several vulnerable locations.

"At the beginning of the fasting month, together with the three pillars, we carried out patrols on several roads that were considered vulnerable, including night entertainment venues, as well as checking Ramadan monitoring posts," he said, Thursday (2/19).

He emphasized that regular patrols will be conducted to ensure the area remains safe and secure. The public is also encouraged to play an active role in maintaining an orderly and comfortable Ramadan atmosphere.

"We urge residents not to form vehicle convoys, not to carry out sahur on the road, and to avoid brawls and illegal racing," he added.

Meanwhile, Head of Cilincing District Satpol PP, Yopri Parulian explained this patrol also aims to ensure the readiness of personnel at each security post.

"We deploy 20 Satpol PP personnel to conduct patrol. This activity will continue, especially during critical hours," he explained.

Personnel also monitored eight cafes on Jalan Pantura, Lagoa Urban Village. Based on the inspection, all nightclubs were closed.

"According to a circular from the Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, nightlife venues are required to close one day before Ramadan. This means they have complied with the regulations," he added.

Yopri reminded the public about the prohibition of sweeps or unilateral raids by certain groups. The public is also urged to respect the law, report any violations to authorities, and maintain tolerance among residents.
