Transjakarta Bus Accident Victims Guaranteed to Receive Maximum Medical Treatment

The Jakarta Provincial Government ensured that all victims of the accident involving two Transjakarta buses on the Swadarma corridor 13 elevated route towards Cipulir received maximum free medical treatment.

All costs for the victims are fully covered by Transjakarta

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, said Transjakarta management is fully committed to covering all medical costs for the 23 people who were victims of the incident.

"All costs for the victims are fully covered by Transjakarta," he said, Monday (2/23).

The total number of injured victims reached 23. All were evacuated to the nearest health facility for intensive care. Twenty-one victims were treated at Sari Asih Hospital and two were referred to Bakti Asih Hospital.

From the report he received, Pramono added that the bus driver operating BMP 220263 was sleepy so the bus lost control and entered the opposite lane.

"As a result, it hit the MYS 17100 bus. 23 people were injured in the incident," he added.

Pramono stated that, despite Transjakarta's well-organized operational management system, physical fatigue or human error could be the primary cause. He suspects that a lack of rest time is affecting the driver's concentration.

As for information, an accident involving two bus fleets, BMP 263 and MYS 17100, occurred on Corridor 13 (elevated lane) on the Swadarma section towards Cipulir, South Jakarta, on Monday morning (2/23). The accident occurred when the BMP 220263 bus was serving the route from Tegal Mampang to JORR.
