Transjakarta Gives Green Light for Iftar on the Move

PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) is stepping up its game to ensure commuters can break their fast with ease while on the move during Ramadan.

We hope to ensure our passengers' journeys remain comfortable

In line with its "Stepping in Kindness" (Melangkah dalam Kebaikan) campaign, the city-owned bus operator is giving the nod for fasting passengers to consume drinking water and light snacks on board.

Public Relations and CSR Head, Ayu Wardhani at Transjakarta, stated that the policy is a testament to the company’s commitment to passenger well-being throughout Ramadan.

“We want to ensure our customers can observe the fast without a hitch, even when Iftar rolls around mid-journey. At the same time, we urge everyone to play their part in maintaining shared cleanliness and comfort,” she expressed, Wednesday (2/18).

The ground rules for breaking the fast on Transjakarta services are as follows:

1. Passengers are permitted to break their fast with water and light snacks.

2. Consumption on board is allowed only at Iftar, with a 10-minute grace period after the Maghrib call to prayer.

3. Passengers may grab a bite from retail outlets or tenants available at various Transjakarta stations.

4. Everyone is urged to keep it spick and span by maintaining cleanliness across all Transjakarta service areas.

Throughout the holy month, it is business as usual for Transjakarta, with services running around the clock (24/7) across its 14 main corridors.

"Through this policy, we hope to ensure our passengers' journeys remain comfortable, orderly, and meaningful,” she concluded.
