Liquor Raids in East Jakarta Continue to Be Intensified

Alcohol raids in East Jakarta continue to intensify. In a raid conducted in Duren Sawit District, 455 bottles of liquor were confiscated.

Deputy Head of Duren Sawit District, Andri Priwitama Maila said hundreds of bottles of liquor were confiscated from two grocery stores in different locations, namely on Jalan Nusa Indah, Malaka Jaya Urban Village, and on Jalan Raya Pondok Kopi, Pondok Kopi Urban Village.

"Last night's joint operation was carried out to provide a sense of security and comfort for Muslims who are carrying out Ramadan prayers, as well as to ensure that East Jakarta remains conducive," he said, Monday (3/2).

North Jakarta Raid Nets 637 Bottles of Illicit Alcohol

He explained that the activity held in Duren Sawit District involved 57 joint personnel of district ranks, PM-PTSP, Transportation Sub-agency, Satpol PP, and assisted by Army and Police.

"We'll keep holding this activity," he explained.

He expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the public who had actively participated in providing information about stalls or shops selling illegal liquor.

"This raid is also an effort to protect our youth from consuming alcohol which can trigger other negative behavior or criminal acts," he stated.
