Jakarta's Central Statistics Agency Records Inflation at 0.63 Percent

The Jakarta Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded inflation at 0.63 percent in February 2026. This figure is lower than the national average of 0.68 percent.

Head of Jakarta BPS, Kadarmanto, said month to month (m to m) inflation of 0.63 percent was influenced by an increase in the price index in the food, beverage and tobacco group which contributed 0.42 percent.

"Personal care and other services groups contributed 0.21 percent," he said, Monday (3/2).

He explained that several commodities that contributed to inflation in Jakarta in February 2026 were gold jewelry (0.21 percent), broiler chicken (0.13 percent), cayenne pepper (0.05 percent), and shallots (0.03 percent).

"The main commodities that contributed to reducing inflation during February 2026, namely gasoline by 0.07 percent," he explained.

He added that based on data from February 2023, 2024, and 2026, inflation occurred, primarily driven by increases in food commodity prices.

"However, in February 2025 there was deflation triggered by electricity tariff discounts," he stated.
