North Jakarta City Secretary's Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development, Wawan Budi Rohman, said the low-cost market is a concrete step taken by the government to maintain people's purchasing power and ensure food supplies remain secure during Ramadan.

"We want to ensure that people's basic needs are met at reasonable prices. Through this collaboration, we not only reduce price fluctuations but also stimulate the local economy," he said, Tuesday (3/3).

Wawan explained that the collaboration with PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya and Dharma Jaya was carried out so that the distribution of subsidized food could be evenly distributed and reach more residents.

"This activity is held on March 2-3, and is planned to be held again next week," he added.

According to him, people can buy various basic necessities at lower prices compared to market prices, including whole chickens and beef which are sold from Rp 36,000 to Rp 135,000.

"This price is relatively stable amidst the trend of rising meat prices ahead of Ramadan," he continued.

Meanwhile, Dewi (48), an employee at the North Jakarta Mayor's Office, admitted that the bazaar has been helpful. This activity not only eases the burden on the community but also provides a growth opportunity for local businesses in North Jakarta.

"Food needs for breaking the fast are more guaranteed and prices are affordable," she admitted.
