Commission D Prioritizes High-Impact Programs for Residents

Jakarta City Council Commission D Chairwoman, Yuke Yurike stated that her side will prioritize high-impact development programs during the discussions for the Pre-Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD).

That is roughly the benchmark we are still working with

The move, she noted, serves as a contingency measure should the Jakarta government’s fiscal health remain constrained, mirroring the budget efficiencies implemented last year.

She further explained that under tight fiscal conditions, every program proposal must undergo selective and measurable scrutiny. Development, she stressed, must remain laser-focused on addressing the capital's most pressing issues.

“Issues such as flood mitigation, waste management, and green open spaces remain our primary concern,” she asserted.

She further noted that all feedback submitted during the Pre-RKPD forum will first be compiled for review. Subsequently, the formal RKPD deliberations will define the framework and priority scale based on the level of urgency for each issue.

As the future fiscal outlook remains uncertain, the temporary budget ceiling is expected to align with the regional budget (APBD) that previously saw a cut by Rp 15 trillion.

"That is roughly the benchmark we are still working with," she explained.

Nevertheless, Yuke expressed optimism that Commission D, in collaboration with related agencies, can meticulously draft programs to ensure the fiscal year 2027 development remains responsive to the needs of Jakarta residents.

"Hopefully, the agencies take the current circumstances into account, ensuring that their proposals genuinely reflect public aspirations gathered through Musrenbang and other platforms," she concluded.
