The Central Jakarta City administration on Monday (3/9) launched discussions to draft a comprehensive poverty alleviation program focused on four urban villages in Johar Baru Sub-district.
To execute these poverty reduction initiatives
Central Jakarta Mayor Arifin identified the targeted areas as the sub-districts of Galur, Kampung Rawa, Johar Baru, and Tanah Tinggi. The program is designed to implement strategic interventions to improve the socio-economic conditions in these specific locations.
The designation of these four urban villages is mandated by Governor’s Instruction No. E-001 of 2026, which outlines the roadmap for the Optimization of Poverty Alleviation and the Eradication of Extreme Poverty (OPPKPKE) for the 2026–2029 period.
Jakarta Poverty Hits Post-Pandemic Low, Declining 0.25%"Four sub-districts in Johar Baru—Galur, Kampung Rawa, Johar Baru, and Tanah Tinggi—have been integrated into the 2026–2029 OPPKPKE initiative," Arifin stated.
He underscored that Governor’s Instruction No. E-001/2026 mandates all regional government agencies to work in concert to achieve the designated poverty alleviation goals.
“In the future, every city department will collaborate to execute these poverty reduction initiatives,” he noted.
He added that city agencies are required to conduct on-the-ground assessments to inventory and identify the specific socio-economic hurdles within the four urban villages.
“I am directing all departments to carry out field mapping and submit detailed action plans for 2026 and 2027. I expect to receive comprehensive work plans from every agency across Central Jakarta by the first week of April,” he asserted.
