Channel Crossing on Jalan Krida Nirmala Being Improved

Blue taskforce personnel of Tanjung Priok's District Water Resource Unit, North Jakarta are improving water channel crossing on Jalan Krida Nirmala, RW 04, Sunter Jaya Urban Village.

Hopefully the water will flow optimally

Head of Tanjung Priok District's Water Resource Unit, Neti Heriati said the repair is based on residents' request during Musrenbang.

According to her, the old crossing position was not aligned with the existing channel so that the water flow could not flow optimally, making it prone to triggering flooding.

"Hopefully the water will flow optimally after the improvement," she said, Tuesday (3/10).

She explained that the work on the crossing, which is one meter high and 80 centimeters wide, is carried out over a length of approximately 10 meters.

Work has begun since the end of February 2026 by deploying six personnel with manual work equipment.

"Now the progress has reached 40 percent and is targeted for completion in April," she explained.

After the crossing work process is complete, her party will also dredge sediment in the channel to ensure smoother water flow.

"We hope that residents can maintain the channels by not throwing rubbish into them so that the water flow remains smooth and there are no blockages at the crossings," she appealed.
