A Dam Is Still Needed to Banish Tidal Wave

Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama, revealed there are still some areas that have no a dam. No wonder, tidal wave or rob can easily enter and hit citizen residential. To anticipate it, there must be dam development.

While Pluit Dam already has a 3.8-meter high. But the dam is not available in Muara Baru until Pasar Ikan

"Tidal wave empties into Pluit Dam. While Pluit Dam already has a 3.8-meter high. But the dam is not available in Muara Baru until Pasar Ikan," he disclosed, at City Hall, Tuesday (6/7).

He stated citizen relocation in Pasar Ikan is one of the steps to anticipate the tidal flood.

According to him, the relocation at some points is very helping reducing flood in the city, such as relocation around Pluit Dam.

"It had occurred in 2007. The Pluit Dam was aligned with the sea. Not the sea in front, but from the sea next to Pasar Ikan. If rain pours, 40 percent of areas in Jakarta will drown," he finished.
