Governor Pramono Commends Community Harmony, Ensuring Safety Before Eid

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung expressed his gratitude that Jakarta has remained conducive, safe, and harmonious in the lead-up to Idulfitri holiday. Consequently, all activities throughout Ramadan have proceeded smoothly and well.

Jakarta remains peaceful and serene

He made the statement during an iftar gathering with community figures and an orphan charity event at West Cengkareng Sports Hall, West Jakarta, Tuesday (3/17).

"I want to express my gratitude that as we approach Idulfitri, Jakarta remains peaceful and serene. Everything has proceeded smoothly," he remarked.

Pramono highlighted the atmosphere of harmony and tolerance in Jakarta, noting that various religious festivities—from Christmas Carols and Lunar New Year to the Nyepi Ogoh-ogoh parade and recent Ramadan events—have all been held peacefully.

In anticipation of Idulfitri, the Jakarta government is set to organize a Car Free Night and a torchlight parade featuring around 5,000 participants.

"Hopefully, this Idulfitri is a deeply meaningful one for everyone," he remarked.

His office will waive fares for all regional government-managed public transport—including the MRT, LRT, Transjakarta, TransJabodetabek, and Mikrotrans—for two days during the holiday. Additionally, Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) holders will enjoy free entry to major attractions like Ancol, Ragunan, and Monas.

Further, children holding the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) will also enjoy free admission to Jakarta's tourist attractions, such as Ancol, Ragunan, and Monas.

Meanwhile, to stimulate the local economy and enliven the Idulfitri festivities, the Jakarta government is providing tax incentives for shopping malls and hotels to host sales events with discounts of up to 70 percent.

This is part of the "Mudik ke Jakarta" program, ensuring those staying in the city can still celebrate the holidays.

Further, the government is providing free homecoming transport for around 30,000 residents using over 750 buses.

Closing his speech, Pramono hoped the orphan charity event would be meaningful for the public, stating it is a form of social care from the government in response to various national issues.

"I would like to ask for your prayers, brothers and sisters, thus Jakarta remains safe and comfortable," he closed.
