Kampung Rambutan Terminal is Crowded with Homecoming Travelers

Entering D-4 Eid al-Fitr 2026, the flow of homecoming travelers at the Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal, East Jakarta, has begun to show a significant increase this morning.

The surge began last Saturday

Head of Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Revi Zulkarnain said, from D-10 to D-4 Eid, as many as 11,684 passengers had departed using 719 intercity and interprovincial (AKAP) bus fleets.

The upward trend in passenger numbers has been gradual. Ten days before departure, 587 passengers were recorded using 68 fleets. This then increased to 700 passengers using 81 fleets nine days before departure, and to 1,694 passengers using 147 fleets eight days before departure.

This number continued to soar, reaching 3,071 passengers on 121 buses five days before the departure. Meanwhile, by 10 AM, four days before the departure, 573 passengers had been transported to various destinations on 29 buses.

"The surge began last Saturday. Compared to previous days, there is indeed a surge in passengers, and the peak exodus is predicted to occur three to one day before the Eid holiday," he said, Tuesday (3/17).

He explained that today, mostly the passengers departed to Bandung, Garut, Tasikmalaya, Cirebon, Tegal and Pekalongan.

"We ensure to provide optimal service to travelers," he explained.

Meanwhile, one of the travelers heading to Pekalongan, Yanti (41), stated she went to her hometown with her family.

"We will stay there for a week. I hope the trip goes smoothly and there are no traffic jams," she stated.
