Pramono Pushes to Ensure No Layoffs for PPPK Employees

The Jakarta Provincial Government will seek to avoid layoffs for thousands of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK).

"Jakarta government will strive to ensure there are no layoffs,"

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung made the statement in response to a central government plan to limit personnel spending to a maximum of 30 percent of city budgets (APBD) starting in 2027.

"What is clear is that the Jakarta government will strive to ensure there are no layoffs," he asserted on Sunday (3/29).

Pramono added that the policy will be reviewed further, with maintaining employment as a key priority.

"We will review it," he emphasized.

Pramono noted that the personnel spending cap is still being discussed and has yet to be decided by the central government. In Jakarta, many PPPK workers, both full-time and part-time, were only recently appointed.
