"Vehicles parked illegally were dealt with on the spot, including towing, tire deflation, and being hauled away by truck," he informed, Tuesday (3/31).

Harlem detailed that four cars were towed, 10 motorcycles were hauled away by truck, and 15 cars had their tires deflated.

"We are taking firm action to create a deterrent effect, so motorists will refrain from parking on sidewalks or the roadside," he said.

He added that motorists should comply with traffic signs installed at the location, including no-parking signs.

According to him, the East Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency will discuss long-term solutions at the city level, considering the area is surrounded by various public facilities and offices.

"The area is surrounded by the Health Sub-agency office, the Jatinegara Community Health Center, a post office, schools, and the East Jakarta Metro Police. Moving forward, solutions will be explored to prevent similar violations," he asserted.

Meanwhile, East Jakarta Traffic Police officer Tarwono said sanctions, including fines, will be imposed in accordance with regulations, particularly on vehicles that were towed or hauled away.

"Sanctions will be imposed in accordance with regulations, including fines. For minor violations, verbal warnings may also be issued," he emphasized.
