Police Raided Shop-house in Gambir, 90 Kgs Meth Confiscated

Narcotics Division of City Police raided a shop-house on Jalan Biak No. 43, Gambir, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (4/30) morning, and confiscated 90 kilograms of crystal meth worth hundreds of millions of rupiah.

If converted to rupiah, these 90 kilograms of crystal meth worth Rp 180 billion. Its quality is good, per gram could be sold for Rp 2 million. This confiscation could save the lives of 450,000 people

City Police Deputy Chief Brigadier General Sudjarno said this case is revealed because of the investigation done on previous case. As for the drug dealer, the person is listed as a member of international drugs syndicate.

“The owner of this crystal meth is in Hongkong. We only secured one warehouse security officer, who is a foreign national from Hongkong, initialed LSC. We’re cooperating with the Interpol to find the drug owner,” he stated.

Bringing Drugs, Warden in Cipinang Prison Detained

According to Sudjarno, the drugs were smuggled from Hongkong to Dumai, Riau Islands, through Malaysian sea. From Dumai, the crystal meth were distributed to other islands, including Jakarta, through land route, disguised in form of packaged food and sweets from Hongkong.

“If converted to rupiah, these 90 kilograms of crystal meth worth Rp 180 billion. Its quality is good, per gram could be sold for Rp 2 million. This confiscation could save the lives of 450,000 people,” he uttered.
