Pramono Orders Inspection Over AI-Manipulated Reports on JAKI App

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has responded to findings regarding resident reports on the JAKI application that were allegedly followed up using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Anyone found at fault must be punished

Pramono stated that he has instructed the Inspectorate to track down the individuals responsible, ranging from the urban village level to the related sub-agencies. He also requested that those responsible be sanctioned.

"I have asked the Inspectorate to investigate whether it was the Urban Villag Head—specifically in Kalisari—or Head of Sub-agency. Anyone found at fault must be punished," he said at Gardu Asem Market, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Monday (4/6).

Governor Pramono to Refine JAKI Complaint System

He emphasized that such an incident must not happen again in Jakarta. For him, transparency and honesty in public service are far more paramount.

Hence, he believes that field personnel should report actual conditions as they are, even if the handling of a task has not been fully completed.

"For the Jakarta government, transparency is essential. It is better to admit if something is unfinished rather than using AI to complete it, which, in fact, constitutes deception," he explained.

Jakarta Communication, Informatic and Statistic Agency (Diskominfotik) Head, his agency has coordinated with the Government Affairs Bureau, which serves as the final validator for all follow-up actions on complaints carried out by Regional Government Agencies (OPD) and Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD).

“The Government Affairs Bureau admitted that there was an error in the validation process. Until now, no evidence had ever been found of complaint follow-ups using AI-generated photos,” he explained.

He explained that from January to March 2026, more than 62,571 public complaints were recorded through various channels, including JAKI application and the integrated Integrated Community Rapid Response (CRM) system.

On average, 20,857 complaints are received each month, which are then followed up by OPD or BUMD and verified by the Government Affairs Bureau.
