23,927 Cilandak Residents Access Free Health Check-up Program

Cilandak Sub-district Health Center, South Jakarta, is strengthening its Free Health Check-up program to promote early disease detection among the public. Between January and April 7, the program has served 23,927 residents.

CKG services are currently available to all residents

Cilandak Sub-district Health Center Head, Sunersi Handayani said, This total represents about 10 percent of the annual target, which is set at 46 percent.

"CKG serves as a screening measure to recognize public health status at the earliest possible stage. Consequently, should health concerns be detected, they can be addressed more promptly and appropriately," she stated, Wednesday (4/8).

It was explained that the CKG program has been adjusted so that residents are no longer required to wait for their birthdays to receive free health screenings.

"CKG services are currently available to all residents and are categorized into fast and complete packages," she explained.

The fast package is conducted at the community level, such as Posyandu, religious gatherings, and neighborhood (RW) areas. These screenings take less than one hour and consist of blood sugar levels, weight, and height checks.

In contrast, the complete package is held at the health center and includes comprehensive lab and dental exams, taking about half a day.

"Those who have finished the fast package will be prioritized for WhatsApp invitations to attend the complete package follow-up," she explained.

Based on the screening results in the Cilandak area, three primary health issues have been identified: hypertension, obesity, and dental health disorders.

"Specifically for dental health, the findings are quite high, reaching nearly 90 percent, with the main complaints being dental tartar and cavities," she explained.

She added that the main obstacle in implementing CKG is the still-low level of public awareness regarding the importance of regular health screenings.

"We continue to conduct ongoing outreach, regarding both the benefits and the online registration process, so that the community can utilize this service optimally," she added.

Sunersi hopes the program fosters a more proactive attitude toward health checks to improve quality of life.

"We conduct quarterly evaluations to keep the program’s progress optimal and ensure it reaches everyone across Cilandak," she concluded.
