Don't Miss It! See You at Tidung Berlebaran Festival Tomorrow!

The South Seribu Islands Sub-district, in collaboration with the Seribu Islands Karang Taruna Youth Organization, is set to host a cultural event titled "Tidung Berlebaran Festival".

This festival also serves as a platform to foster relationships

The event will take place at the Jembatan Cinta area in Tidung Island Urban Village tomorrow, Saturday (4/11), starting at 8. AM.

South Seribu Islands Sub-district Vice Head, Sidartawan said this inaugural event aims to preserve local cultural heritage from being eroded by modern times, while simultaneously strengthening community bonds and promoting the area's cultural and tourism potential.

"This festival also serves as a platform to foster relationships between local leaders and the community," he stated, Friday (4/10).

He explained that the event involves the Youth Organization (Karang Taruna) and is supported by various agencies and community stakeholders, including the National Police, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Fire and Rescue Agency, schools, Urban Village Consultative Body (LMK), neighborhood and community heads (RT/RW), and other community groups.

The scheduled lineup of events is quite diverse, featuring a procession of 27 types of traditional Tidung Island delicacies accompanied by Ketipring music—reminiscent of a wedding parade—as well as performances of Qasidah, Hadrah, Lenong Betawi, and other traditional arts.

"It will also feature a local food exhibition where 2,700 pieces of Tidung Island’s signature traditional cakes will be distributed to the community for free," he explained.

He added that the activities include a community clean-up at Cinta Bridge with 300 volunteers, free medical screenings for up to 500 residents by the local health clinic, and various folk performances.

"We welcome all residents and travelers to join the festivities of the Tidung Berlebaran Festival. Come and help us keep our local heritage alive while experiencing the charm of Tidung Island," he explained.

At the same time, Seribu Islands Karang Taruna Youth Organization Head, Rojiun Hamid, noted the event serves as a vital opportunity to foster unity and showcase the region’s coastal traditions and tourism potential on a larger scale.

"We want this festival to boost our tourism profile and draw even more tourists to Tidung Island," he explained.

He envisions the festival becoming an annual tradition for Eid celebrations, not just on Tidung Island but across all other islands in Seribu Islands.

"Hopefully, this can continue and evolve while gaining community support to ensure its success and provide benefits for all parties involved," he asserted.
