Pramono Supports Action Against Thuggery in Jakarta

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has responded to the recent surge in thuggery that has gone viral in the Tanah Abang area. The extortions, targeting bajaj drivers and meatball vendors, have sparked public concern about security in the surrounding area.

"Yesterday, all those who extorted money from traders and bajajs were arrested," he said, Tuesday (4/14).

He emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government will not provide space for the practice of extortion or thuggery against residents who earn a living.

"And the Jakarta Government provides full support so that things like this cannot happen again," he added.

The Governor fully supports law enforcement in taking firm action against thuggery in Jakarta. He hopes Jakarta will become a safe city for its residents.

"As the Governor of Jakarta, I also provide support for taking firm action against thuggery against anyone in Jakarta," he added.

For your information, a viral social media extortion case against a bajaj driver and a meatball vendor in the Tanah Abang area has gone viral. The thugs demanded deposits and fees from them, along with vandalizing property.
