Bina Marga Dept to Build Manholes in Six Points

The city administration will build manholes in order to resolve the existence of utility poles standing on the sidewalk that caused chaotic scene in the capital

The distance of one manhole to other manholes is 25 meters

Riri Asnita, Section Head of Road and Utility Infrastructure for Jakarta Bina Marga Dept disclosed 384 units of manhole will be built.

"This number is signed by the dept. And for in region, it is owned by sub-dept," she stated, Wednesday (6/8).

There are six locations that managed by Bina Marga Dept, she continued, they are in Tanah Abang and Kyai Caringin (Central Jakarta), around Daan Mogot Flat (West Jakarta), around Rawamangun Terminal (East Jakarta), around Blok M and Caringin (South Jakarta).

There are three type sizes of manhole being worked out. For manhole that worked out by Bina Marga Dept, is using 1.2x1.8 meters.

"The distance of one manhole to other manholes is 25 meters," she told.

She added it is targeted to be complete on December 15. It is hoped in 2017, six locations would be free from utility pole. Thus the sidewalk structure could be tidier.
