Violating Building Permit, Home Industry in Penjaringan Raided

A convection home industry on Jalan Sukarela No. 15, RT 04/09, Penjaringan Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-District, North Jakarta, was raided by Satpol PP, the police, and TNI on Wednesday (4/30) due to running its business not in designated place. As a result, 17 sewing machines were sealed. Those sewing machines will be confiscated if the industry still operating.

The convection named CV Fatah Anugrah Jaya owned by Lisyati (59) ran its business for almost two years in a house which permit is for residence, not business place. Thus, this small enterprise has violated Bylaw No. 15/2011 about business place permit.
Head of Jakarta Satpol PP Inventory and Documentation Section, Herri Tri, said that that before holding the raid, his party has repeatedly warned the business owner. The last warning was given on last Wednesday (4/2).

Therefore, he urged the residents to obey the rules about building designation.
“We did not seal the house, only its production machines. I urge all residents to do their business in designated place, so it will not violate the rules,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, Lisyati, the business owner, acknowledged that she cannot do much about the sealing. For now, she did not know what to do next after this incident.
“I have 20 employees. We produced children’s clothes and t-shirts since two years ago. I still don’t know what to do next,” she expressed.
