Petukangan Utara Registers New Arrivals Post-Eid

The South Jakarta Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) Sub-agency conducted outreach and mobile civil administration (Adminduk) services for new arrivals following Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri at the SKKT office in Petukangan Utara Urban Village, Pesanggrahan Sub-district.

Through this data collection, we can accurately determine the number of newcomers

Head of Population Registration at the Jakarta Dukcapil Agency, Shanti, said the initiative is part of efforts to collect data on new residents entering Jakarta.

"Through this data collection, we can accurately determine the number of newcomers and classify those who intend to settle permanently with official transfer documents and those who are non-permanent residents staying temporarily for work, education, or family reasons," she said on Monday (4/20).

Shanti explained that so far, 800 non-permanent residents have been recorded as entering or residing in South Jakarta.

"The increase in registrations is driven by the simplified process, which residents can now complete independently," she highlighted.

She added that residents who already have a Digital Population Identity (IKD) no longer need to visit the urban village office, as reporting can be done via mobile phone and proof of registration can be downloaded directly.

"We urge all newcomers, whether newly arrived or those who have been staying for some time but have not reported, to immediately report their presence. To maintain safety and order, newcomers must report to the local neighborhood head within 24 hours," she asserted.

Meanwhile, Halimah, a member of Dasa Wisma in RW 11, Petukangan Utara Urban Village, said the service has been helpful in facilitating residents while assisting officials in updating population data in the neighborhood.

"This service is very helpful as it makes it easier to obtain updated resident data in each neighborhood unit," she said.
