Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno revealed the need for a new Command Headquarters for the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP). He emphasized this after a working visit to the Satpol PP office in Block H of Jakarta City Hall.
the budget was already listed before
"Actually, the budget was already listed before, and the land was available. However, we were forced to cancel it due to efficiency concerns. However, after our discussion, this headquarter was necessary," he said, Tuesday (4/21).
Vice Governor Reports Regional Development Achievements to DPRDRano explained that the budget for the construction of the Satpol PP Headquarters was actually planned for 2026. However, budget efficiency due to cuts in revenue sharing funds (DBH) from the central government, the plan was one of the programs chosen to be postponed.
According to Rano, the headquarters' construction is also a strategic effort to support Jakarta's rise to global prominence.
Rano exemplified that global cities must be supported by adequate CCTV and public order security personnel. Therefore, the headquarter will serve as a command center for CCTV monitoring and troop deployment, as well as supporting facilities.
Rano admitted that he would re-discuss the plan to submit the construction of the Satpol PP Headquarters to be submitted in the 2026 revised City Budget. Technically, Rano added that it is possible for the headquarter to be combined with other SKPDs such as the BPBD and the Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency on Jalan Kh Moh Mansyur, Central Jakarta.
"So the fleet can be ready, if anything happens it can move quickly, that's the point," Rano emphasized.
