Jakarta Future Festival 2026 Ready to Take Place at TIM

The Jakarta government, through the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), is set to host the Jakarta Future Festival (JFF) 2026 once again.

We're working to return TIM to its role as a 'home of ideas'

Taking the theme "Navigating Resilience," the festival—which focuses on collaboration, innovation, and future urban ideas—is scheduled to take place from June 5 to 7, 2026, at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Central Jakarta.

During the Jakarta Future Festival 2026 Kick-Off Meeting, Jakarta Bappeda Head, Atika Nur Rahmania, stated that the festival is more than just an annual celebration; it is part of a knowledge ecosystem designed to build the city's collective capacity through imagination and innovation.

"We're working to return TIM to its role as a 'home of ideas' and a meeting place for various elements of society to come together, share ideas, engage in dialogue, and voice their aspirations regarding the development of Jakarta," she explained, at Graha Ali Sadikin, Jakarta City Hall, Friday (4/24).

As of this year, JFF has officially become the Intellectual Property (IP) of the Jakarta government. Atika explained that in building a knowledge ecosystem, JFF is designed around the concept of a "Jakarta Urban Playground."

She envisions this year’s Jakarta Future Festival being even more vibrant to support the city's sustainable development. To that end, she is calling for participation, collaboration, and a diverse range of ideas to fill the spaces within JFF.

"This collective strength is a significant asset; when all elements of society unite to build Jakarta, the energy is truly extraordinary. Therefore, let us view this as an opportunity to create a shared space for us to build Jakarta together," she explained.

She further elaborated that the theme "Navigating Resilience" was chosen to prepare Jakarta for the potential impacts of global geopolitical shifts.

The event will be held by merging celebratory elements with the core substance of urban planning. This concept is structured into four main spectrums: deliberating, shaping, showcasing, and engaging.

The event itself is designed to serve as a platform for the Jakarta government to effectively communicate its various programs to the public, thereby fostering a closer connection with its residents. Further, it will involve the participation of various stakeholders to address and discuss current and pressing issues.

JFF plans to introduce international perspectives on navigating cities toward greater resilience by inviting the Mayors of New York and Boston.

Aside that, the "Jakarta Forecast" program will be featured to chart the city's future trajectory, discussing strategic directions in sectors ranging from tourism and the economy to global diplomacy. JFF will also provide a platform for the public to offer evaluations and feedback on urban planning.

It will host 160 speakers across 32 panel discussions under the "Urban Talks" program. This initiative involves a diverse range of urban stakeholders, including policymakers, communities, the business sector, and academics.

It will also provide a dedicated space for children through the "JFF for Kids" program, designed to foster their awareness and engagement regarding the future of the city.
