The Jakarta Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) collaborated with Karsa City Lab in an event titled 'To The Future of Jakarta' at the Benyamin Sueb Pattern Room, Grha Ali Sadikin, Jakarta City Hall, Friday (3/21).

Collaboration is conducted by formulating a strategic plan for Jakarta as a global city. Karsa City Lab will be the 'delivery partner' for the Jakarta Government in the global city policy innovation strategy through assistance and policy implementation, collaboration hubs, and dialogue forums for city stakeholders and human resource capacity development.
"As an innovation laboratory, Karsa City Lab is here to support the transformation of Jakarta into a global city. We believe Jakarta can become a prototype for other major cities in the world in inclusive and sustainable urban planning," expressed Karsa City Lab Managing Director, Dedi Wijaya.

"This is a meeting point for various groups of society with different interests. So, how do we gather all that energy into one strength," she expressed.
She hoped that this collaboration was able to mobilize all elements of the city for the advancement of Jakarta. Bappeda also collaborated with international institutions to identify what needs to be done in the next 20 years.
"Some people say whether it is possible for Jakarta to be among the 50 global cities. This can be proven with good planning and the energy obtained from various collaborations and well-structured strategic steps," she explained.
He ensured that the Jakarta Government would play a role as a catalyst that could connect all city elements. The five years of leadership of Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is an important momentum in preparing the foundation for Jakarta's development to enter the 50 global cities.
"Therefore, it is not only about good fiscal aspects and planning aspects, but also how we build a collaborative platform together that is fueled by the existing spirit," he stated.
