South Jakarta Government Continues to Intensify Waste SortingThe location was previously a waste bank that is now inactive. However, some residents believe it is still a temporary waste disposal site (TPS). Consequently, residents of three neighborhood units (RT) in RW 15 continue to dump waste there.
"Residents had previously been advised several times not to throw rubbish at that location and were directed to throw rubbish in the places provided," he added.
According to him, the Ministry of Public Works (PU) will later build a retention pond in the area.
"The existence of this retention pond is very important to support the control of puddles and flooding in the surrounding area," he continued.
He reminded residents who are still caught throwing rubbish carelessly will be subject to strict sanctions in the form of fines according to applicable regulations.
"The community must also start sorting waste from their houses," he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Andrie Pujiyanto, Supervisor of the Cilincing District Water Agency's UPS, stated that 36 cubic meters of waste had been removed using one large truck and one pickup truck.
During the cleanup process, his team deployed around five to ten personnel daily to expedite waste management at the site.
"The cleanup process is targeted to be completed today. We ask the public not to dump trash at this location again," he appealed.
