Construction of the North-South MRT corridor is targeted for completion in stages. The commissioning phase, or system trials, will begin in mid-2027.
Meanwhile, the operational target to Harmoni Station will be carried out at the end of 2027 and the operational target to Kota Station is planned for the end of 2029.
"The 22.2-kilometer main section from North to South will be completed in 2029," he added.
During the inspection, Vice President Gibran and the Jakarta Governor highlighted several issues, including the technical challenges of the construction at Sawah Besar and Mangga Besar stations. These two stations are the deepest, reaching 28 meters below ground level.
However, the Governor appreciated the involvement of local workers in the project. He stated that all work on the project is carried out by local workers.
"All 3,800 people working there are Indonesian. This proves that our best sons and daughters, if given the opportunity, can produce extraordinary results," he explained.
The Jakarta Provincial Government is also currently continuing construction of the East-West MRT line. According to Pramono, the ongoing stages include land acquisition, route determination, and station location determination.
"Hopefully in 2030 we can enjoy it for the West-East," he stated.
