Mud Sediment Removed from Cincin Reservoir Connecting Channel via Dredging

The Tanjung Priok Water Resources (SDA) Sub-district Unit in North Jakarta is currently dredging the Cincin Reservoir Connecting Channel adjacent to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) on Jalan Danau Bisma, Papanggo Urban Village.

Preventing flood risks in the vicinity

Tanjung Priok SDA Sub-district Unit Head, Neti Heriati stated that the dredging is a follow-up to city-level directives to conduct normalization and desilting at various drainage points across North Jakarta.

She explained that the project spans 525.62 meters in length, with the channel measuring six meters in width and approximately four meters in depth.

"The accumulated mud and debris being cleared reach a depth of about two meters," she added.

Thus far, the volume of silt successfully removed has reached approximately 154.5 cubic meters. Each day, two to three trucks are deployed to transport the dredged material.

"The volume of mud currently piled along the channel banks is still being calculated," she explained.

She furthered that he project commenced in late April 2026 and is targeted for completion within two to three months.

"The operation involves at least five personnel and is supported by heavy machinery, including one unit of an XL 23 excavator and one unit of an AM 24 mini amphibious excavator," she noted.

She expressed hope that the dredging would minimize flood potential in the surrounding area, particularly during periods of high intensity rainfall.

"The objective is for this dredging to optimize water flow, thereby preventing flood risks in the vicinity," she said.

The initiative garnered appreciation from a resident of Sunter Agung, Radiansyah (35).

"I hope the work proceeds smoothly and that, in the future, channel maintenance can be conducted regularly to keep this environment flood-free," he remarked.
