South Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency has cleared 2,428 cubic meters of mud and debris during the dredging of the Cideng River at Jalan Patra Kuningan, spanning both Tebet and Setiabudi sub-districts.

South Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency Head, Santo stated that the dredging has been underway since September 2025 to address siltation.
"This dredging is being conducted as a maintenance effort to increase the river's flow capacity, reduce sedimentation, and support flood prevention in South Jakarta," he expressed, Wednesday (4/15).

"All resources are being deployed optimally to accelerate the dredging process and ensure maximum results," he elaborated.
He aims for this dredging to ensure a smoother flow of the Cideng River, thereby minimizing the risk of inundation and flooding, particularly during periods of high rainfall.
He then urged the public to help maintain environmental cleanliness by not throwing trash into channels or rivers and to refrain from occupying river basin areas (DAS).
"We target the dredging to be completed by the end of this year. Hence, we hope for the community's support in keeping our environment clean," he emphasized.
