South Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency Head, Santo stated that the dredging has been underway since September 2025 to address siltation.

Santo explained that the dredging is still ongoing, with four units of heavy equipment and five dump trucks deployed. Each truck has a carrying capacity of five to eight cubic meters per trip.

"All resources are being deployed optimally to accelerate the dredging process and ensure maximum results," he elaborated.

He aims for this dredging to ensure a smoother flow of the Cideng River, thereby minimizing the risk of inundation and flooding, particularly during periods of high rainfall.

He then urged the public to help maintain environmental cleanliness by not throwing trash into channels or rivers and to refrain from occupying river basin areas (DAS).

"We target the dredging to be completed by the end of this year. Hence, we hope for the community's support in keeping our environment clean," he emphasized.
