Confirmed, Jalan Rasuna Said is Suitable Location for CFD

The South Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency has ensured that the road conditions in the HR Rasuna Said area, Setiabudi, are suitable for Car Free Day (CFD) on June 1, 2026.

Head of the Sub-agency, Rifki Rismal said this certainty follows an evaluation of the previous implementation, which according to the community resulted in puddles of water and a new asphalt surface that was deemed uncomfortable for pedestrians.

"In general, the public appreciates the implementation of the Rasuna Said CFD, but we must handle these problems well," he said, Tuesday (5/19).

He added that the arrangement of the Jalan Rasuna Said area, especially around Epicentrum, is quite challenging, because at the location there is also water flow arrangement work from the Jakarta Water Resources Agency.

"Regarding June 1st, we are working to ensure the road is suitable for CFD. However, it may not be completely finished, and we are working as hard as possible," he added.

The east side of Jalan HR Rasuna Said, currently being renovated, adopts the concept of a complete street as an inclusive shared space. This is because Jalan HR Rasuna Said is one of the main and strategic corridors in South Jakarta.

Rifki targets that the development of the Rasuna Said area will be fully completed by the celebration of Jakarta's 499th anniversary, which falls on June 22, 2026.
