Jakarta Government Prepares 160 Cows for Eid al-Adha

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, said that the Jakarta Provincial Government has collected 160 cows for the sacrifice of Eid al-Adha 1447 H/2026 M. All the sacrificial animals from the Jakarta Provincial Government will be distributed to people in need.

"As of today, the number of cows collected on behalf of the Jakarta Government is 160 cows," he said, Wednesday (5/20).

Dharma Jaya Ready for Thousands of Eid al-Adha Sacrifices

Meanwhile, Pramono was reluctant to mention the personal sacrificial animals that will be donated during Eid al-Adha.

Previously, Pramono confirmed that the supply of sacrificial animals, both cows and goats, was sufficient in Jakarta. He also stated that prices for sacrificial animals in Jakarta are currently under control and relatively stable.

"Prices of sacrificial animals in Jakarta have not increased and remain relatively stable. Sacrificial animals, whether cows, goats, or other animals, are now fully available in Jakarta," he admitted.

The abundance of sacrificial animals has prompted other regions to source supplies from Jakarta. This, he stated, demonstrates the effective role of regionally-owned enterprises (BUMD), particularly Perumda Dharma Jaya, in preparing sacrificial animal supplies.

"The BUMD responsible for this, one of which is Dharma Jaya, they prepared well," he stated.
