Basic Needs Distributed to Fire Survivors in Cipinang Cempedak

Head of Cipinang Cempedak Urban Village, Rico Eka Putra Rifai said the fire that broke out on Wednesday (May 20) evening left seven families, or 25 people, homeless. Some residents temporarily took refuge in a nearby mosque, while others chose to stay with relatives nearby.

"We express our gratitude and appreciation to all parties who acted quickly to handle the incident and provide assistance to residents affected by the fire," he said, Thursday (5/21).

Pondok Bambu Fire Survivors Receive Assistance

Rico explained that the assistance currently received by residents is in the form of ready-to-eat food from the East Jakarta Social Sub-agency and in-kind assistance from the local PMI.

"Based on the results of coordination with the local RT/RW administrators, refugee tents have not been provided because the need for temporary housing can still be handled through mosque facilities and the homes of local residents," he explained.

Head of East Jakarta Social Sub-agency, Agata Bayu Putra stated ready-to-eat food aid is being prepared for the next three days to help meet the basic needs of fire survivors.

"We are providing 50 boxes of food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with mineral water. This assistance is based on the urban village's request," he stated.

The Head of the Coordinating Task Force of the East Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Rangga Bima Setiawan, confirmed that his party had also provided a number of aids for fire survivors in the form of 12 mattresses, four boxes of mineral water, 20 boxes of ready-to-eat food, and two boxes of biscuits.

"We also provided other assistance in the form of 10 blankets, eight packages of clothing and four boxes of family kits," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations and Communications for the East Jakarta Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), Agus Bastian, stated that his team also distributed various basic necessities to affected residents.

The aid included basic food packages, hygiene kits, family kits, eight packages of folding mats, four sheets of tarpaulin, eight boxes of mineral water, and one package of children's school supplies.

"It is hoped that this assistance will help ease the burden on fire survivors," he hoped.
