West Jakarta KPKP to Sterilize 2,200 Male Cats

The West Jakarta Food Security, Maritime Affairs, and Agriculture Sub-agency is targeting the sterilization of 2,200 male cats this year. As of May, 400 male cats have been sterilized.

According to the Head of the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Section of the Sub-agency, Tanti, the target for sterilization of male cats this year has increased by 10 percent from 2025, which was 2,000.

200 Male Cats in Palmerah Sterilized

"Last year, we achieved our sterilization target of 2,000 male cats. This year, the number has increased to 2,200," she said, Tuesday (5/21).

She added that this year, the agency has sterilized male cats at two locations. The first activity took place at the Cengkareng Fisheries Product Promotion Center (TPHP) on Monday (April 20).

The second activity took place at the Palmerah District Office on Tuesday (May 18). Each activity at the two locations sterilized 200 cats.

Tanti stated that she would strengthen coordination with district and urban village officials to ensure the success of the program. Sterilization activities are planned to continue until November 2026.

"We will cooperate with the district and urban village heads to maximize the results. So far, we have reached 400 cats," she admitted.
