Kultura Market in Pademangan Barat Attracts Crowds

Residents showed strong enthusiasm for the Kultura Market themed "From Healthy Food to Healthy Living" held by the North Jakarta Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency at RPTRA Budi Mulia in Pademangan Barat Urban Village, Pademangan Sub-district.

Raise public awareness of healthy food consumption while supporting the creative economy ecosystem for MSMEs

North Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head Novy Christine Palit said Kultura Market is regularly held across different sub-districts to ensure equal promotional opportunities for assisted MSMEs.

"Every month, we try to rotate the event across different areas to ensure equal opportunities for assisted MSMEs. If promotions are held only in one location, many MSMEs would miss the chance to participate," she said on Friday (5/22).

She explained that the event involved at least 16 assisted MSMEs engaged in the culinary, horticulture, and agriculture sectors, alongside PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya and Perumda Dharma Jaya, which sold staple goods at affordable prices.

"The products offered are quite diverse, ranging from processed food to agricultural and urban farming products. We want to provide space for urban farming groups to market their harvests," she added.

Novy hopes the Kultura Market initiative will help raise public awareness of healthy food consumption while supporting the creative economy ecosystem for MSMEs at the sub-district level.

She explained that Kultura Market has already been held at several strategic locations across North Jakarta. The program began in Koja Sub-district, continued in Kelapa Gading, and is scheduled to be held next month at a public housing (rusun) in Penjaringan.

"We invite all residents and MSME owners to attend and help enliven the program," she said.

Julia, one of the assisted MSME owners participating in the bazaar, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to sell healthy homemade foods such as dim sum, gyoza, and choipan.

"Events like this really help increase business turnover. In a single bazaar, sales can reach Rp3 million to Rp5 million," she said.

Meanwhile, Pademangan Barat RW 03 resident, Evy (55), said Kultura Market greatly helps residents meet household needs at more affordable prices.

"I bought salted eggs, meat, and snacks for my children earlier. Hopefully events like this can be held more often, with additional booths and stronger promotion to attract more residents," she said.
