Jakarta Government Hosts Jakarta Sales Mission in China

The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) is hosting the 'Jakarta Sales Mission to the China Market 2026' in two strategic cities, Xiamen and Shanghai, on May 22 and 25, 2026.

This Sales Mission represents a tangible effort to promote Jakarta

The mission underscores Jakarta's active involvement in ITB China 2026, a world-class tourism event, and continues the momentum of last year's successful program.

This aggressive promotional effort follows a report from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) naming China the top source of international visitors to Jakarta in 2025, accounting for 227,000 visits.

China Eyes Green Investment Potential in Jakarta

Jakarta Parekraf Agency Head, Andhika Permata, this upward trend is expected to repeat during the school break and summer holiday period this coming July. He noted, the Chinese market offers extraordinary potential as the world's fastest-growing source of outbound travelers.

"This Sales Mission represents a tangible effort to promote Jakarta directly, capture investment leads, and bolster creative economy ties," he expressed, Monday (5/25).

“Jakarta provides a complete tourism ecosystem—from shopping and flavorful culinary tours to urban culture, lifestyle tourism, coastal beauty, and world-class MICE facilities,” Permata said.

Echoing this sentiment, Jakarta Marketing and Attractions Head, Lucky Wulandari emphasized that the hands-on approach of a sales mission is vital for gaining market trust and broadening partnerships with Chinese outbound travel agents, tour operators, and airlines.

“With this collaboration, we are confident we can significantly increase international visitor numbers, draw new investments into the tourism and creative economy sectors, and foster long-term regional economic growth,” she added.

Notably, the Jakarta government has brought a delegation of 18 leading tourism industry players, ready to offer Jakarta’s premium travel packages and maximize business-to-business (B2B) networking potential.
