Fire Breaks Out at Rental Homes in Pinang Ranti, Quickly Extinguished

Firefighters from the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-agency successfully extinguished a fire that broke out at rental homes on Jalan Reformasi II, RT 17/02, Pinang Ranti Urban Village, Makasar Sub-district.

There were no fatalities or injuries in the incident

East Jakarta Gulkarmat Operations Section Head Abdul Wahid said the fire, which was suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit, was reported at 3:15 PM.

“The fire suddenly broke out in an empty house after its occupants had left to sell goods,” he said on Monday (5/25).

Wahid informed that eight fire trucks and 40 personnel were quickly deployed to handle the incident.

“The extinguishing process began at 3:24 PM, and the entire firefighting operation was completed at 4:06 PM,” he explained.

He noted that eight families with a total of 19 people lost their homes in the fire.

“There were no fatalities or injuries in the incident,” he added.

Meanwhile, Pinang Ranti Urban Village Head Nani Yuslina expressed appreciation to East Jakarta firefighters for their swift response, which prevented the fire from spreading to more buildings.

“We have requested emergency tents and ready-to-eat food assistance from the East Jakarta Social Sub-agency to help residents affected by the fire,” she said.
