Fire Hit Two Buildings in West Jakarta, Zero Casualties

The West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat) personnel handled fire incidents at two different locations last night and this morning. No fatalities or serious injuries in the incident.

In Cengkareng, a fire struck a food stall in the Satpas SIM Polda Metro Jaya Housing Complex on Jalan Daan Mogot, Kedaung Kali Angke Urban Village. Meanwhile, in Kebon Jeruk, flames burned a section of the Binus University Cakra Campus building on Jalan Raya Kebon Jeruk, RT 01/09, Kebon Jeruk Urban Village.

West Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-agency's Operationd Head, Ahmad Syaiful, explained that the fire at the Satpas SIM Polda Metro Jaya Housing Complex occurred on Thursday (5/21) night at approximately 10:40 PM.

"To handle it, we deployed seven fire engines and 35 personnel to the scene," he expressed, Friday (5/22).

He continued that the fire was brought under control within approximately five minutes, and the entire extinguishing process was declared complete at 11:18 PM last night.

Regarding the fire incident at the Binus University Cakra Campus, Syaiful stated that his team received a report from residents through the command center on Friday (5/22) at around 5:30 AM.

In response to the report, the sub-agency deployed 11 fire engines and 55 personnel to manage the situation.

According to him, the fire broke out in the Auditorium area on the 4th floor of the campus building.

"After approximately 20 minutes of handling, the fire was brought under control, and the cooling process began at around 6 AM," he revealed.

He added hat these two incidents caused no fatalities or injuries.
