7,757 Sacrificial Animals in West Jakarta Undergone Inspection

A total of 7,757 sacrificial animals spread across 105 shelters have undergone health and suitability checks by the West Jakarta Food Security, Maritime Affairs and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency.

Head Section of Animal Husbandry and Health of the Sub-agency, Tanti said the inspection was run on Monday (5/4) up to Monday (5/25).

She explained that 7,757 sacrificial animals that have been examined consist of 2,636 cows, 4,704 goats, 399 sheep and 18 buffaloes.

"The inspection includes the health condition and suitability of the animal, as well as the completeness of the documents from the area of origin," she said, Tuesday (5/26).

Regarding the eligibility requirements for sacrificial animals, Tanti added that her team conducted oral examinations to ensure the animals were of the appropriate age.

According to Tanti, the inspections revealed no serious violations and provided treatment and vitamins to animals found to be unfit.

"It is ensured that all animals are free from defects and in healthy condition," she explained.

Starting tomorrow, her rank will conduct inspections at the sacrificial animal slaughter locations.
