The Commander of the North Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency's Enforcement, Sulaeman, said that this activity is routinely carried out in six districts in North Jakarta to ensure traffic order.
"This operation aims to control goods transport vehicles that violate traffic regulations and endanger road users," he said, Tuesday (5/26).
Lintas Jaya: 7,256 Vehicles Sanctioned in East JakartaSulaeman detailed that 16 freight vehicles were issued with inspection reports (BAP) and tickets. The sanctions were imposed because the vehicles were found to lack proper vehicle documents, carrying loads exceeding their capacity, and being unroadworthy.
"The activity involved 20 joint personnel of sub-agency, army and police," he added.
He urged transportation owners and drivers to always check their vehicles' roadworthiness and complete administrative documents before operating. He also urged drivers not to overload their vehicles, as this poses a high risk of accidents.
"Hopefully, this operation and strict sanctions will have a deterrent effect on drivers and transportation company owners who violate the rules," he hoped.
Meanwhile, one of the freight drivers, Hairul (45) admitted that he was caught in an inspection by officers while carrying a load of sacrificial animals in the form of cows and goats.
"The officer checked the documents and issued a warning. I'm ready to take care of the necessary paperwork if necessary," he admitted.
