"This work has started since the beginning of March and is targeted for completion at the end of June," he added.
Unpredictable weather conditions are one of the main obstacles during the work process. However, his party is optimistic that the construction of the embankment can be completed according to target.
Meanwhile, one of the local residents, Mursalim (60), appreciated the massive cube instalation as part of the local resident's proposal.
He hopes that the embankment will be able to protect Payung Island from the threat of abrasion and prevent coastal erosion that could disrupt the environment and residents' settlements.
"Hopefully, with this embankment, the coastal area will be safer from abrasion, allowing residents to carry out their daily activities more comfortably," he hoped.
