Central Jakarta Government Responds Quickly to Fire Victims in Tanah Tinggi

The Central Jakarta City Government moved quickly to handle hundreds of fire survivors on Jalan Tanah Tinggi IV RT 09 RW 07, Johar Baru, Thursday (6/4).

Two evacuation posts have been set up

Head of Johar Baru District, Ishran Prasetiawan admitted his party cooperates with Social Sub-agency, PMI, Baznas Bazis, and BPBD.

"Two evacuation posts have been set up in the courtyard of the mosque near the fire site to accommodate 60 families or 240 survivors," he said.

He added that various forms of assistance from the Social Sub-agency and the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) have also begun to arrive to ease the burden on fire survivors.

"A total of 300 boxes of ready-to-eat meals and mineral water have been distributed to survivors. They receive three meals a day during the disaster response period," he added.

He explained that other work unit organizations such as the Central Jakarta Population and Civil Registry Sub-agency had also opened a post to help fire survivors process their burned population documents.

"We also have a medical team on standby from the Johar Baru Community Health Center to assist with health checks on fire survivors," he explained.

The fire that occurred on Thursday (5/4) early morning at around 12.15 AM destroyed 30 houses.

Head Section of Operation for Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue, Syarifudin admitted 24 firetrucks with 140 personnel were deployed to extinguish the fire.

"The fire was successfully localized at around 1.35 AM, and continued with the cooling process," he admitted.

It was recorded that around 250 people from 60 families lost their homes due to this incident.
