Traffic Measures Prepared to Ease Congestion Around GBK This Weekend

The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has prepared a range of traffic management and transportation measures to ensure smooth mobility during several national and international events taking place in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area on June 6–7.

Traffic measures will be implemented based on real-time conditions

The events include EXO Planet #6 ExhOrizon in Jakarta at Indonesia Arena, Raisa Live Concert Love & Let Go at JICC Plenary Hall, Polytron Indonesia Open 2026 at Istora Senayan, Festival Jamu Nusantara 2026 at GBK Urban Forest, Hero E-Sport PUBG at Tennis Indoor, Indofest 2026 at JICC Hall B, as well as several other activities taking place throughout the GBK area and its surroundings.

An estimated 37,800 visitors on Saturday (6/6) and 43,000 visitors on Sunday (6/7) are expected to visit GBK.

Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Budi Awaluddin said personnel have been deployed at strategic locations to manage traffic and ensure smooth mobility during the events.

“Personnel have been assigned to manage traffic, monitor parking areas, and coordinate with the police and event organizers. Traffic measures will be implemented based on real-time conditions to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of road users,” Budi said on Thursday (6/4).

He added that traffic engineering measures will be implemented around the GBK area if vehicle volumes increase significantly. The measures include the following traffic arrangements:

a. Traffic from the South:

1) Vehicles traveling from Blok M to the North (Tanah Abang) can use Jl Panglima Polim–Jl Kyai Maja–Jl Sultan Iskandar Muda (making a U-turn in front of Gandaria City)–Jl Teuku Nyak Arief–Jl Tentara Pelajar–Jl Penjernihan–Jl KH Mas Mansyur–and so on;

2) Vehicles traveling from Blok M to the West (Slipi) can use Jl Panglima Polim–Jl Kyai Maja–Jl Sultan Iskandar Muda (making a U-turn in front of Gandaria City)–Jl Teuku Nyak Arief–Jl Tentara Pelajar–Jl Letjen S Parman–and so on;

3) Vehicles traveling from Blok M to the East (Kampung Melayu) can use Jl Trunojoyo–Jl Wolter Monginsidi–Jl Gunawarman–Jl Senopati–Jl Suryo–Jl Kapten Tendean–Jl HR Rasuna Said–Jl Prof Dr Satrio–Jl Raya Casablanca-and so on.

b. Traffic from the North:

Vehicles traveling from Tanah Abang to the South (Blok M) can use Jl KH Mas Mansyur–Jl Penjernihan–Jl Pejompongan–Jl Tentara Pelajar–Jl Teuku Nyak Arief–Jl Kebayoran Baru–Jl Kyai Maja–Jl Panglima Polim–and so on.

c. Traffic from the West:

1) Vehicles traveling from Slipi to the South (Blok M) can use Jl Letjen S Parman–Jl Tentara Pelajar–Jl Teuku Nyak Arief–Jl Kebayoran Baru–Jl Pakubuwono VI–Jl Bumi–Jl Kyai Maja–Jl Panglima Polim–and so on;

2) Vehicles traveling from Slipi to the East (Tebet) can use Jl S Parman–Jl Pejompongan–Jl Penjernihan–Jl RM Margono–Jl Galunggung–Jl Dr Saharjo–Jl Prof Dr Soepomo–Jl MT Haryono–and so on.

d. Traffic from the East:

Vehicles traveling from Tebet to the West (Slipi) can use Jl Kapten Tendean–Jl Wolter Monginsidi–Jl Trunojoyo–Jl Kyai Maja–Jl Sultan Iskandar Muda (making a U-turn in front of Gandaria City)–Jl Teuku Nyak Arief–Jl Tentara Pelajar–Jl Letjen S Parman–and so on.

To accommodate visitors' vehicles, the Jakarta Transportation Agency has prepared 10 parking areas within the GBK complex with a total capacity of approximately 1,957 cars and 8,229 motorcycles.

The parking locations are situated at Southeast Plaza, South Plaza, Istora, South Elevated, North Elevated, Aquatic Center, ABC Field, Madya Stadium, Albina Mosque, and Softball Field.

“We urge visitors to use the designated parking areas and refrain from parking on roadsides, as doing so could disrupt traffic flow and other public activities,” he asserted.

Residents who do not need to travel to the GBK area this weekend are advised to avoid roads surrounding the venue and adjust their travel plans according to the applicable traffic arrangements.

Road users are also encouraged to obey traffic signs, follow instructions from officers on duty, and prioritize safety while traveling.

“We invite all residents to help maintain order and traffic flow during the various events taking place in the GBK area. With cooperation from all parties, we are optimistic that the events can proceed smoothly without significantly disrupting public mobility,” he emphasized.
