92 Vehicles Violating Parking Regulations in Central Jakarta Impounded

As many as 92 motorcycles and four-wheeled vehicles were netted during an operation held by Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency, Monday (6/8).

Head Section of Operation for the Sub-agency, Henu Aji said the illegal parking and parking attendant operation was carried out at 10 vulnerable points that residents often complain about, because they cause traffic jams and narrow the road.

"We netted 92 motorcycles and cars that were parked illegally," he said.

Dozens of motorized vehicles were caught in the operation, namely two cars were towed, 68 motorcycles were subject to a valve removal operation (OCP) sanction, four cars were subject to a BAP sanction and 17 bicycles were grounded.

According to Henu, the operations were held on Jalan Merdeka Timur, Jaksa, Wahid Hasyim, Metro Blok A Tanah Abang Tunnel, Jalan Kebon Kacang Raya, Kebon Kacang 30 and 13, Kebon Sirih, Kenari Market, Letjen Suprapto and Mangga Besar XIII.

The officers also controlled five illegal parking attendants from three roads.

"They were netted from Jalan Jaksa, Wahid Hasyim and Metro Blok A Pasar Tanah Abang Tunnel," he added.

He admitted illegal parking operations in Central Jakarta will continue to be intensified over the next few days.

Moreover, his party also socialized to residents to park in the areas provided.

"Community participation is very important to solve the problem of illegal parking," he admitted.
