Jalan Raya Setu-Cipayung Channel Cleared of Mud and Trash

Personnel from the East Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Execution Unit in Cipayung are desilting a drainage channel on Jalan Raya Setu-Cipayung, RW 05, Bambu Apus. The ongoing work is reported to be 55 percent completed.

We target the work to be completed by the end of June

Cipayung Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Dian Kartika stated that the dredging is being conducted due to the accumulation of silt and debris in the channel.

"The mud has reached a thickness of 50 to 60 centimeters, causing the channel's capacity to be no longer optimal," she explained.

She explained that the channel being dredged is approximately 103 meters long, 80 centimeters wide, and 1.5 meters deep. Thus far, 20 cubic meters of mud have been successfully removed.

"This dredging began on April 30, 2026, with eight personnel deployed. We target the work to be completed by the end of June," she detailed.

This work received appreciation from one of the locals, Bagyo (41).

"We hope to prevent flooding when it rains, given that the channel's capacity has improved and the water is flowing smoothly," he stated.
